Osteoporosis and Osteopenia Treatment Options
A complete osteoporosis and/or osteopenia treatment program includes focusing on proper nutrition, exercise, and safety issues to prevent falls that may result in fractures. In addition, your doctor may prescribe osteoporosis medications to slow or stop bone loss, increase bone strength, and reduce fracture risk.
Osteoporosis medications affect the bone remodeling cycle. Bone remodeling is made up of two stages: bone resorption (bone loss) and bone formation. These stages usually occur together to maintain a healthy bone. In osteoporosis, the cycle becomes imbalanced and bone loss occurs more rapidly than bone formation, resulting in a weakened bone.

Exercise
Exercise is also an important function of delaying the onset of osteoporosis. Without going into actual exercise routines, there are many types of strength building exercises. It doesn't matter which specific routines one uses, as long as the individual incorporates general strength training into their osteoporosis and osteopenia treatment protocol.
Alternative, Supplementary Treatments
In addition to exercise and the osteoporosis medications mentioned above, there are alternatives out in the market that are available to those that cannot tolerate traditional osteoporosis medication. For those that are looking for a natural alternative to current treatment options, there are available plant based remedies such as OsteoSine, our 100% natural supplement that works the same as the medications mentioned above but without the potential serious side effects.
